Description

*Edit*
Oops, I forgot to add blood splatters on her face and hands. Oh well, let's pretend it's there ^^;

This is my chapter one entry for :iconnightmaresyndromeoct:'s contest. This is for chapter one, since we already did the intro and now we have to make it to the next scene or whatever XD;

So this is Lisa Devour, she is fighting against Lori Blackett (~Dave175) for the key and map to the mansion.

The desire for power does strange things to people...

Here is chapter 1

-----------

There were 12 of us total in the room. In front of us was a table with 12 envelopes. We each grabbed the ones with our names on the front and I opened mine and pulled out the letter. It read:

"Lisa,

I'm so glad that you could make it to play. I have arranged for an icebreaker so that you can get to know a few of your opponents, but I ran into a little problem: this mansion doesn't seem to have enough rooms for all of you. I really hate it when something unexpected like that happens.

You know what else I hate? Acquaintances. It's so confusing for when you're supposed to decide when they're your friends, and you can never remember how you're supposed to treat them.

So I came up with a plan to treat both of these problems at the same time.

I will be sending some of my acquaintances into the room. You will fight Lori Blackett to see who can kill Acquaintance #3 first. Or try to fight while trying to kill the acquaintance. That would be very exciting. Also, please try to keep the fight exciting.

I won't be very happy if you hesitate. I'll be watching the entire thing, you know.

If you lose and don't kill the acquaintance first, then please go back home. I have included plane tickets to your hometown in the envelope, but all of the acquaintances have a map of this mansion and a key to one of the rooms you will hopefully be staying in. You do want to stay and keep playing, right?

I would say "Let's have a fair fight", but I don't mind either way.

Sincerely,
<written in dark red ink, in cursive, as if a signature>You want your wish, don't you?"

Six children ran in and my face went pale and my gut hurt. I didn't want to kill anyone!

The Acquaintances are CHILDREN?! I almost wanted to scream out. I looked around to see what everyone else was doing, almost hesitant to go forward for the child with the "3" marked on his shirt. The child ran towards the other end of the room and I dropped my bag and took off after the kid. I had to dodge some of the people already fighting each other for the kids. The boy ducked under the table and I dodged around it. I heard a gun go off and I felt a sting in my shoulder. A woman ran past me, holding the gun that was shot and after the kid with the "3" on his shirt.

Lori Blackett.... I grit my teeth and ran after her. I didn't even think of going to get my bag. When I thought I was close enough I leaped and knocked her down. I didn't really think my plan out too well because once I had her down I didn't know what to do next. Oh but she did. She hit me in the side of my head with her hand, holding the gun of course and I fell onto my side. My trembling hand touched the side of my head and I grit my teeth again in the pain. Though, I wasn't going to give up to Lori so easily. I stumbled up and dodged and ducked around the fighting duos that were stuck in the room with us. I opened my bag while shaking and grabbed my bat and a ball from my bag. I looked around to see Lori still chasing the little snot around the room. I made my way through the clearing in the area, knocking into the children I wasn't supposed to be going near. Lori cornered the brat and aimed her gun. I threw the ball up and slammed the ball square into her back. The gun went off and I looked at the kid who was ducking, scared, but unharmed. The gun was shot at the ceiling. Lori was in pain from where the ball hit her. I kept walking towards the cowering child, all my senses were about getting the damned key and moving on to the next challenge.

"Come're you little brat." I muttered and grabbed him. I pulled him forward and the words nearly flashed in my mind as I grabbed the gun that Lori had dropped.

kill....don't hesitate...You want your wish, don't you? I gripped the front of the kid's shirt and pointed the gun at his head.

"I'm sorry...." I finally whispered and squeezed my eyes shut as I squeezed the trigger. The loud crack and jolt from the gun made me drop to my knees, the gun falling out of my hand.

I realized I was crying when the tears hit my hands when I opened my eyes. I reached into the Acquaintance's pocket and grabbed the key and the map of the mansion. My hands had splatters of blood on them and after shoving the items into my pockets and I wiped the blood onto my pants, trying to think of something else so I wouldn't puke up my airplane food lunch from earlier. I was trying my hardest to keep it down.

Most of the Acquaintances were already dead and the others were leaving. I was still on my knees when I saw in my peripheral vision Lori. She picked up her gun and looked at me and then the Acquaintance. She shoved her gun back where she got it and frowned. I didn't bother to look up at her. I guess she knew she had lost, and there was no where else to go but back to the plane where she came from. As she left I had only one thought on my mind.

Am I a monster?
